Card for my son's teacher and a survival kit...

This is a card I have made for my son's reception teacher to say thank you for everything this past year. I used paper by Imaginisce (the red stip across the middle is the design on other side of the beige paper and attached with brads), the sheets of paper was done with a cute Imaginisce stamp and chalked then a brad added, the boy on the pencil is a Magnolia stamped image and coloured with Whispers pens and a waterbrush. My son is going to make his own thank you card.

This is a little funny gift, a Teacher's Survival Kit. The bag contains:
A Tissue - to wipe away the tears, yours and theirs.
Shiny Penny - to remind you each child shines in their own special way
Paper Clip - to hold everything together
Crayon - to colour your day bright and cheerful
Elastic Band - to remind you to be flexible
Jigsaw Piece - because without you the class wouldn't be complete
Marbles - to replace the ones you may lose
Eraser - to remind you everyone makes mistakes and they can be erased
Starburst Sweet - to give you a burst of energy when you need it
Teabag – relax with a well-deserved cuppa

Another pocket card but it's not square this time!!!

This is a big pocket card using 2 A5 card blanks. The papers are from the new Lemonade range by Baisc Grey (as are the stickers).

I made my first wallet...

This is my first ever wallet, made using the brilliant tutorial from the lovely craftygranny. I decorated the wallet with some very pretty DCWV floral paper and a Tilda stamped image. The lace ribbon was given to me by OAP as part of the stash swap over on Crafty Place and it is gorgeous. I've made it to hold some stamped images and I'm going to send it to a very special lady who sent me lots of images x

A Daisy Card for Daisy!

I made this cute daisy card for a little girl called Daisy. The papers and decoupage image are by Daisy and Dandelion and the lettering is by Basic Grey (Archaic).

Trying new colouring methods...

I have some Whispers brush pens and have always used them straight from the pen onto the card to colour an image. I wanted to try something subtler so had a go adding the ink from the brush pen to an acrylic block and picking up the ink with a waterbrush pen and then colouring. The image on the left is how I would normally colour and the one on the right is done with a waterpen. I love the subtleness and colour shading, think I'm going to have to play a bit more with the waterpen!

My Pink Card and ATC Swaps

This is the card that I made for the Crafty Place June 'Pink' Card Swap. I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie papers and a template from Craftwork Cards to cut out the owls and the branch.

This is the ATC I made for the Crafty Place June 'Feeling Blue' ATC Swap. I used more Basic Grey papers and the owl template again.
This is a little tag card I sent to npsmama from MSE. I used Basic Grey Offbeat papers.

Cards I Received Today...

My lovely postlady bought me these beautiful cards today...

This one is from the lovely Gemm, it's her PINK card swap. It's gorgeous with loads of layering x
This card is from Mary (MSE/Crafty Place). She is having huge problems with her PC and so sent me this very pretty note to let me know what she's been up to. Mary has been keeping herself more than busy making snowmen out of socks and has very kindly sent me instructions so I can have a go...

Craft Fair Update

After my panic about timescales I cracked on and made a few things for my fair yesterday...

I've made up 20 of these little boxes (box of hugs/special box). Originally found the idea here.

I made up 24 of these little birthday survival kits which contain funny bits and pieces...
I also printed all the prompts for my journal jars (going to make 6 of them for the fair).
I feel more organised now!!!

Craft Fair Panic

I worked out last night that I have 8 weeks till my craft fair so had a slight panic and then made a week by week plan of what I can do each week to get ready. It now looks more manageable! This week my tasks are:
1. order cellophane - done!
2. print journal jar prompts onto coloured paper
3. buy wrapping paper for wrapped loo rolls - done!
4. buy bits need for survival kits and make a label on the PC
5. put together favour boxes and tie with ribbons for box of hugs and make a label for these

A few more cards I made last night...

Few more cards made last night, using Papermania scalloped cards and my best friend, glitter glue!!!

MSE Challenge - Fantasy

Ok, I know this is rather tame for a 'fantasy' card but I needed to make a girlie card so tied the two together. I added lots of glitter glue!

Creative Card Crew Challenge 15 - black plus one other colour

I used lovely Daisy Bucket paper on this card. The stamped image is by Inkadinkado and the greeting by Craftwork Cards. I added Stickles glitter glue for a touch of sparkle.

Baby Cards for an order...

A mum from school asked me to make her 5 cards for her to give to some of her clients who are expecting babies. These are what I have come up with, only one of them is sort of gender specific. I hope she likes them and won't feel obliged to pay for them if she doesn't really like them. I am going to be soooo nervous handing them over on Monday!

This first one is a set of plastic hands and feet stuck onto acetate and mounted in a card frame. The papers are by DCWV Nana's nursery and are glittery and very gorgeous. The ribbon is sheer but has swirls on it and I love it, got it from a little craft shop.

I really love the little giraffe, an Imaginisce clear stamp. I added a little bit of Stickles glitter glue to him and used some Basic Grey paper for the card. I used the same ribbon as before (as I really like it!).

This is a pocket card decorated with Winnie the Pooh baby paper, a couple of stickers and paper flowers.

This is a coloured stamped image with some Skickles glitter glue, cut out and backed with a scallop circle of Doodlebug embossed card. The paper is by Daisy and Dandelion and the wording is a rub-on by Imaginisce.
I made this little pram using a scallop circle cut in two. The buttons are from ebay. The swirls are cut using a punch and the paper I used for the swirls is by DCWV and is slightly glittered.

Nappy Cake and New Baby Basket

Here is the Winnie the Pooh (WTP) nappy cake I've made for my friend Jayne who is expecting her first baby in July. I used Nature Babycare nappies; a WTP blanket; 2 x WTP bodysuits; 2 x WTP bibs; 3 x WTP muslins; 3 x WTP socks and a cuddly WTP for the top!

As we are very close friends I have also put together a basket of 'bits': Nature Babycare toilettries; Asda organic cotton wool pads; nailbrush; little box for first tooth; WTP cutlery set; WTP nightlight; WTP book set.

I now need to get cracking and make a Winnie the Pooh scrapbook for when the baby arrives.

Crafty Place June Challenge Card - Summer

This is my entry for the June challenge over on Crafty Place. The theme is Summer and I hope my card is summery enough. I used a scallop edged card from Craftwork Cards, gorgeous paper and ice cream stamp from Imaginisce, stitched a greeting and a few mini swirls using a Papermania template and added a bit of rik rak ribbon and layered some pretty paper flowers. I coloured the stamped image with Whispers pens and then went mad all over it with Stickles glitter glue! It's quite a full on card for me, I think my stuff tends to be rather simpler but I really enjoyed making this colourful number x

Another Stitched Card...

I have made this card for my SIL's birthday. The papers are Basic Grey Marrakech. I used a Fiskars border punch to make the scallop edge on the piece of red paper. I stitched a pretty flourish (again!), added an embossed birthday greeting and aged it with a bit of blue ink and added a little flower this time ;-)

Wednesday 3 June 2009
