GD card for Creative Craft World...

My lovely friend Oona aka Choccy asked me to be a GD for Creative Craft World and I jumped at the chance. The theme this time is 'Anything but Birthdays'. I thought I'd make a Christmas/Winter card and used a fab image from the challenge sponsor Robyn's Fettish. I love the simplicity of the image, think it lends itself to paper piecing but I have coloured it this time.

I have teamed the image (available to purchase here) with some of my all time fave paper from the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses pad, it really is too gorgeous to use but I forced myself as it goes with the image so well I think. The panel on the left is embossed and lightly sanded Coredinations Whitewash cardstock...

Big thank you to Oona for asking me to join the Creative Craft World team for this challenge. Please do pop over and see the DT work and join in with the challenge.

It's time for a new challenge at Cards for Men...

It's time for a brand new challenge at Cards for Men and we have a fab theme for you - 'Use a Key' (n.b. card must be for a male). Our fab sponsor this time is Prairie Fairy Designs...

"
Hello! I am Roberta from Prairie Fairy Designs. I am a new digital stamp company featuring artwork not only created by me but also my two kids, ages 9 and 12. They are featured on the site as the Fairy Princess and the Prairie Prince. I have been an artist for as long as I can remember and have always loved to create. Two years ago my sister-in-law invited me to a rubber stamp party. I laughed and said 'Maybe I will buy something if I can use it to stamp on canvases'. Needless to say, I was hooked! Two years later and a lot of learning about computers, I have finally accomplished my goal. While digital stamping is relatively new in the papercrafting scene, it is what I believe to be such an amazing tool. Printed images have such clarity and vibrancy and gone is the need to re stamp an image because you didn't press hard enough or maybe you pressed too hard! They are also a lot easier to store and they can be reprinted over and over again. The fact that you can rotate and flip files, print them off the size of a postage stamp or as large as a scrapbook page makes them such a versatile medium. It is my sincere hope that I can help anyone who has hesitations about using digital images to embrace these amazing creative tools. If you have any questions about going digital, check out the site and the blog for more information. So head on over to http://www.prairiefairydesigns.com/ and check it out!"

Please pop over to the CFM challenge blog to check out the details of our new challenge. As always the DT have made some wonderful cards, please do pop across and have a peek and have a go at the challenge while you're there. So onto my DT card, I have used a fab digi image from Prairie Fairy Designs called Man O Man, you can purchase him here. I teamed him with my fave papers at the moment (Echo Park For The Record) and a sentiment I found online. The card is for my clever brother (shhh, don't tell him I think he is clever!) who has recently been offered a new job.

Show us your folds!

It's time for challenge number 24 at CYDA, our theme this time is 'Fancy Folds' so here's a chance to maybe try something you haven't before.

Our challenge is being sponsored by the fabulous Meljen's Designs. The winner wins 4 digi images of their choice, what a fab prize! Please do come and join in the fun and check out the gorgeous creations made by my lovely team mates.

So onto my DT card, I opted to make a square criss-cross or pocket card, there's a great tutorial here but I just made it up as I went along ;-) I used some much neglected paper and a gorgeous image from Meljen's Designs called Teacup Mouse you can purchase him here. A lovely friend sent me some absolutely beautiful stash the other day (you know who you are missus x) and in there was the most beautiful lace and silver corners. Almost too lovely to use but I cut one piece of the lace in half to decorate the diagonal flaps on the front of the card and added one of the silver corners and loads of blooms as usual. I've tried to mix bold colours with pastels, think I like the effect...

An Award!

The lovely K has given me this award, thank you K xxx

So, the rules...
"The rules are that I must share 7 things with you about myself and pass the award on to 8 other bloggers (who must then do the same)."

So things about me that you may not know...
1. I am concerned about my children growing up and leaving me behind.
2. I firmly believe laughter is a good medicine, a good laugh can do wonders for your mood.
3. I love looking at and listening to the sea. My favourite all time advert is an old Oxo one where a family are sitting in a car at a sea front drinking Oxo (yuck!) whilst it pours down with rain and the sea crashes over the car.
4. My favourite food is chocolate. Just like k, my favourite chocolate is Cadburys, I prefer that over any of the posh stuff.
5. I fancied Larry Mullen (the drummer in U2) when I was young.
6. I have only owned 2 cars, my first one was a blue Metro was called Ada.
7. It's taken me a long time to like myself, I think I am there now.

So who to pass it on to....
